Don Regan. Jon Corzine. Tom Pawlenty – who even is that?
All of these men are participants in the age-old phenomena referred to as the “revolving door.” This concept refers to how individuals transitioning between the private and public sectors accumulate knowledge, networks and insider information to unfairly influence society’s vast outcomes. Quite simply, CEOs, politicians and lobbyists are secretly the most powerful and incesstual people in America.
My white paper is an examination of the revolving door and an application of the concept to three distinct case studies. I endeavor to mend the gaping loopholes of the Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995 and equip Congress and the Office of Government Ethics with more powerful tools to solve conflict of interest problems.
